Put in new fuel tank, sending unit, all new lines this weekend along with a new Pony Carb... WOW what a difference. I guess sometimes it really is the carb!

One thing I have noticed though is now the throttle is "sticky" What I'm trying to say is it is hard to "pat" the gas pedal lightly in stop & go traffic. Is this a symptom of new carb or how do/can you adjust the stock throttle linkage on a manual 200 6.

thanks!

Try a heavier throttle return spring, but not too hard since your foot will get tired holding it down.

I had a Pony carb that would not seat all the way back down. It was that rod that runs over the top of the bowl hanging up. Change the rod and the problem was solved. One carb had a plastic rod and the other had a bronze one. The plastic was whipped and a little hip hung up on the entry hole. The metal shaft did not have this problem.

Otherwise, I found the Pony Carb an excellent choice and they helped me a lot on the phone.

careful with a sticky throttle there!

With the throttle stop not adjusted correctly, the throttle plate will eat into the soft material of the carb throat, creating a ridge and ruining any idle qualities.

As the problem aggravates over time, the sticking throttle shaft could break upon quick acceleration, causing further engine damage eventually.

A stiffer return spring hooked directly to the throttle lever will only cause more wear on the throttle shaft holes

To adjust throttle idle position, use the idle speed screw (right on the pic below)

Simon,

thanks. The curb idle was set a little high (Per Pony Carbs Video they ship all carbs that way as most people have late timing). Adjusted idle screw, problem seems to be solved.

thanks again!
