Hey Guys,

One of the mods I am going to do to my 200 are the FSPP Headers. My question is about a port divider.. I am going to have to have a friend do the welding because I know nothing about it. First of all, what is actually used as the divider?..what kind of metal, and how is it pre fab'd? Do I buy one from Ford Six Parts?..Secondly, I dont think my friend has ever fabbed anything to a head, or any other engine work, so what do I need to instruct him to actually do specifically when he welds it onto the head... I guess any trial and error stuff you guys have gone through in doing a port divider.
Thanks, Kelly

There's a lot of information in here about that, try looking around a bit. You can buy the divider from Clifford. The divider and the head are both cast iron so its not just simple welding to get it in there. You need to use a nickle rod, or maybe try brazing the divider in.

Personally, I epoxied mine in using a product from Aremco and I have since taken 2 trips that were 8 hours long and 2 trips that were better than 10 hours long and I haven't had any problems. Personally I think the putty is a lot lower risk and easier to do, especially if you have access to a lift.

hey man,

if i were you i would spend the 13 bucks and buy one. The devider is cast iron. Besure when you have your buddy weld it in he uses an N99 rod or you may crack the head. An extra procation the machine shop that welded mine in did was heat up the head before they welded it in like an oven type thing. I believe i have an extra port devider laying around but ill have to look 5 bucks pluse postage and its urs.
