Hi,
i am new at this forum and i want to thank everybody for the information i already found on it,
at the moment i'm porting and polishing my 200 head.
In the exhaust is a slight dimple and bump and i wondered if it can be removed without risk of hitting water.

Thanks,
Jack

JaCo, If the 'bump' you mention is the one I'm thinking of, it's the bottom of the head bolt's hole. The casting is more than 1.8" thick there, as I removed almost this much from mine.

However, raising the port height works better than working much on the 'bump'. Check the top of the exit against the exhaust manifold and raise it to match. As the exhaust gases reach futher from the exhaust valve, they expand quickly, so more volume is helpful. Also, try to smooth things out, as the exhausts are typically very rough, pitted and flashed. Removing thoset little irregularities will certainly help.
