What's the going price for a 250 that was supposedly running fine when pulled but probably needs an overhaul? Will an 250 fit easily into a 1968 mustang? I know it "will fit", but I don't want to have to do any major mods.

8) i got one for $60 complete. and no major mods to install a 250. a few minor ones are required though.

Plan on changing the bellhousing or trans. That's pretty major!

If buying from a wrecking yard I would expect to pay $300, and from anyone else a bit less (all the way down to "FREE!") depending on condition

I picked one up for $90. under $100 or around that would seem pretty reasonable.

But yeah, there's other costs involved like the transmission and stuff.
