thank you sir may I have another!!

so when is this head getting released? or are you waiting to corner the market on numbers THEN release it to us :P

ps this topic should have a NSFW heading as I just giggled like a little girl for the last 5mins.

All I can say is that you guys are going to love that cylinder head!

The '69 should make a very good test mule for the head and the EFI setup. I can't wait to get this thing fired up!

We had some fitment problems with the turbo on the '69. We were planning (and still are) using a larger turbo then the one that's in the pics. So I'm going to have to modify the header a bit to lower the turbo down about an inch.

But other than some growing pains......this thing should haul ass!

This morning, I ran out of time as I wanted to post more, but needed to get to work. So.........

I want to THANK all of the people that are making this possible.

Jim Smart, the senior editor of Primeda, went way out on a limb to convince the publisher that more inline projects were needed, and "WILL" sell issues. And I do mean way out. He was also instrumental in convincing the suppliers to back an inline project. With out their support, we simple could not have pulled this off. All of the steering, suspension, brakes, clutch assemblies, and lots of other misc parts were donated. It didn't cost us one cent, including the labor to install it. All due to Jim, and his unwavering support.

Next, I need to THANK Will & Kelly, and Ryan for all the hours they devoted. They worked countless hours on the motor over the past two weeks. Then topped it off with 34 hours over the weekend. Let me tell you, that's some very long days, and nights (into the wee hours of the morning). They literally ran me into the ground (Jim got a pic of me napping in the stang Sunday afternoon). Will is a master craftsman and really knows his way around an engine bay. As do Kelly and Ryan. Thanks so much, to the three of you. I just can't say it enough.

We also had a lot of help from Rich, Don, Dale, Bob, and Andrew (all fellow forum members), running down parts, cleaning old parts, and assisting anyway they could. Chasing parts as far as thirty or forty miles away, is very time consuming. I would have to guess that Don drove two hundred miles plus, on Saturday alone. Not to mention forking up some of his own cash if we were sort. That's devotion

With out the help of these people, and our suppliers, this simply would not have happened. I owe them all, BIG TIME, and only hope I can find a way to repay the favor in an equal fashion.

CHEERS GUYS (and KELLY)

THANKS JIM, for all that you have done for the inline community. Your the best, and I sincerely mean that.

I'm reading this at 11 o'clock at night from a hotel in Revere, MA and I'm so excited I can't go to sleep! and I've got to get up at 4AM to get thru the traffic to teach in the morning. You guys aren't playing fair! Congratulations you guys! On the flight here, I was reading the Oct 2006 Issue of Hot Rod magazine that I picked up at a news stand. On page 37 of the Roddin' at Random Project Garage listed under Christopher Campbell, Associate Editor he lists his cars and says he bought a '62 Ford Falcon for mileage, but is becoming a little too fascinated by Fordsix.com! Wow, even in the small print. I guess I'd better hit the hay. Can't wait to check the forum tomorrow!

:D You know Mike, If you want to do another 69, I might just know of a guy that has one that could use a make over.....LOL
Keep up the GREAT WORK.

Your welcome! This was a great idea and is a great project. Opentacker Racing Products is proud to be a contributor. This car is going to turn a lot of heads at the track, even with the hood shut. When people come over to take a look and see an inline between the shock towers, it'll get a lot of attention. It was put together well, with quality parts by quality people who know what they're doing. I wish I could flog it around the track a few times myself. I'm sure it'll outrun a lot of the V8 cars and open peoples eyes to the potential of the inline motors.

Now, time for the ORP plug - The roller upper arms on this car are something new we came up with in the past few months. There are only a few sets of them in existance. Several of the top NHRA drag racing teams as well as the vintage road racing teams are using them along with our roller spring perches and roller lower arms. The roller front suspension is a new idea, like the inline road racer. It's refreshing to see a project like this one being done so anyone can follow along and do much the same in thier own garage on a limited budget.

I too would like to thank Jim Smart, the rest of the contributors and the people who put in the time and hard work to make this car a reality.

Opentracker, if we can drag Mike to Tulsa next year for the Mid-america show I'm sure you could twist mikes arm alittle LOL. Thank you for your support of the project! Rich

That is coming together quickly and impressive. I just love the look of an inline. The TBI and plenum is no nicely installed, it really parralells the engine beautifully. I can't wait to see it go!

Rich,
I'm pretty sure we'll be going to the Mid-America meet! Kelly has to race in the big FE class! She'll probably beat them all! 427 cubes vs. 250. Doesn't even sound fair! Kelly will smoke'em!

Opentracker,
I hate to say this, but I don't even remember checking out the front suspension all weekend!
I was so focused I guess on my little piece of the puzzle that I didn't really check out everyone else work!
I'll be thrashing on it in two weeks so I'll make sure this time to check it out.
We'll see about some seat time in the car. You gotta fight me for it! :D
Later,
Will
