If anyone is contemplating swapping pushrods, read this!
There are two basic kinds of early 200. The short deck US style, also made in Aussie till 1967.
A tall deck 200, made in Aussie from 1971 to 1976.
There are Argie and Aussie medium deck 188/221's, which have a taller deck than the early 200,
Then there are two kinds of log head and non cross flow 250's. The US 250's have different length pushrods because the Dearborn boys moved the cam out further than the Aussie six. They look real similar but only a few bits interchange!
Each has diferent pushrod requirements, making 5 pushrod sizes before you introduce the myriads of other details which Ford reserved the right to change.
Luke Nukem, for your own sanity, bro, use the new old stock or even stock 200/250 XA to XB unadjustable rocker gear and pushrods. Use all related bits that go with them.
The pushrod length varies a great deal if you change even one thing. The Yella Terra Web site say 250 non cross flows and 2v's need to run 9.13" long pushrods when using YT roller rockers and shims and stock pedastools, while stock pushrods and unadjustable gear is 9/16" (0.5625" or 14.29 mm) longer than if you use the earlier XK to XR gear. So even though it sounds real good to apply adjustable valve gear, it could result in a sensational miss-arangemnet. I could use other words begining with F...
Then there are Hydraulic Cleveland V8/X-flow style bleed through pushrod lifters and these have 150 thou (0.150" or 3.81 mm) difference in the position of the ball to the hyraulic pre x-flow ones. Others are edge oriface types, which allow no oil through.
Then there are different oiling methods, with the early pre 1968 ones oiled by the rear true left side 14 th head bolt, while the later ones have the oil pipe.
Then there are springs and retainers, and any valve alterations make small fry changes.
Then there is any higher lift cam. It can be a real messenger of dancing knitting needle voilence if the springs bind. Base circle diameters on cam regrinds can differ,
A truck load of other valve gear stuff can mess up a great donk.
