Radiator Flow Direction the TSU location on OZ250/2V

Okay...for those that don't know, the Aussie heads have the wrong size port for the TSU unit. So, I was looking at other possible locations for a TSU. Two possible locations:

1) on the head, there is a port just behind the Thermostat that goes to the heater core. What if I put the TSU there, and put the heater hose on hte port on the thermostat cover? I know that will mean I can't use my heater until the car heats up, but would that work?

2) Another option, I have a flushing T hooked up to my heater hose. What if I put a TSU there? But I assume the TSU needs a ground.

3) TSU on the thermostat housing? Once again, would only give me a temperature if my thermostat is open.

Any other ideas?

What's a TSU? I have a OZ head and everything hooked up normally. Is it thermostat sending unit?

OK, well unless I am misremembering,(wouldn't be the first time), I screwed mine out of the 63 170 and into the OZ head. Does that help are some OZ heads different?

Try the unit from a 78-80 model 6 cyl. The TSU in my original 65 head was way too big for the 80 head but the local NAPA dealer fixed me up with a new one for the '80 head.

The hole that is in the position for the TSU on my Oz head is about 3/8" in diameter, where a stock 65 TSU is about 5/8-3/4" in diameter IIRC.

The I think I may just put it outside the T-stat, that will work for now until I figure something else out.

Yes...

That's why I may try putting it before the t-stat where the heater hose goes, and then just run the heater hose after the t-stat. Downside of that is during the winter, the heater won't heat until the engine is completely warmed up. That's bad being that I drive this car in Winter in New England. Though I can always cover part of my radiator to help heat the car up. My problem is now, my cooling system is almost too good. I can barely get it to the thermostat temp idling on a 95* day, much less when it's 20* outside.

Why not just use an adapter at the stock position. I used Auto Meter gauges there send worked fine.
