Anyone here think if I brought them the motor already bored/honed and everything with all the parts how much would you charge me for you to build it? I've never rebuilt and I dont wanna try it bye myself my first time..

I live in ocala florida... about an hour from tampa... Im planning to put full roller rockers/performance cam/clevite bearings/ and going to a 250oz head and holley 500carb dual out headers, and whatever other performance things I can get ;P,, you know the usual=) I dont wanna rebuild it if its going back to stock the motor ownz but she aint got no balls.. yet=) I wanna help out or watch in whatever I can the most i've done to a car is replace the head gasket never done anything with cams and piston rings etc..

SHOP HOURLY RATES

Basic labor $50.00
If you watch $65.00
If you ask questions: $80.00
If you help: $100.00
If you bring along a friend: $125.00
If he helps $200.00

It's old, but deserves a mention. Plot your approach carefully to avoid this impost on your money! Many people will meet you partway; they will respect genuine effort and reciprocate as practicable. And (trust me), never drag a friend along if you're trying to learn.

Regards, Adam.

You're about 30 min away from me (gville here). Too bad I am not all that experienced in building motors. Although I can put a head on a 200 with no problem :)

You can do just about everything with the help of a friend, just by carefully reading the book and following instructions. The one thing you can't readily do in your garage is install cam bearings. That is best left to a machine shop. The rest of the assembly is pretty much connect the dots, carefully. Just make sure you have a torque wrench, "plastigauge," and feeler gauges.

my boss changed his cam bearings the other day with only removing his oil pan.. but I dunno what he did... $50 an hour? what if they run into a problem and it takes 24 hours.. thats way 2 much man=) Im bringing a block already cleaned and bored and shaved.. with all the parts

Changing cam bearings requires ou to knock the old bearings out. First you have to get to them. That means pulling the cam, whch means most of the stuff on the front of the engine, the radiator, belts, hoses, timing cover, gears, lifters and pushrods have to come out. On a 200, you have to pull the head as well. You would have to pull the pan to get the first three bearing out. But the fourth (rear) bearing has to be driven out of the back of the block, along with the plug. And you can't do that unless you also pull the engine to get access to the rear of the block. So unless he has an OHC engine of some kind (which would not have required you to pull the pan anyway), I don't think that's a likely story.

As far as labor rates, $50/hr is on the low side for shop rates.
