i purchased the falcon six handbook and it was a good read and I will be following this for my performance upgrades. I think I'll need a book on engine rebuilds though by the time I get to my engine build.

any engine rebuild guides/books you guys would recommend as a reference for the build?

That's a good book for reference on rebuilding the 200 possibly? Bummer there are no specific books pertaining to the inline six's. I think i'll have to get this book if it's the closest thing.

When I had my engine rebuilt I took the Falcon Six Handbook with me to the shop and left it with the machinist.
I had highlighted all the specific points of interest particular to my build in orange so it was easy to find.

He did a beautiful job of porting it out.

the ford small block was good :thanks: , yea too bad theres nothing on the falcon six or inline six.

- yea i was going to let the machinist see the performance handbook on a few things as well

If you don't already have one, I'd recommend a Shop Manual for your year vehicle/engine. It will have alot of step-by-step info. Glad to hear the Handbook was helpful.

Several years ago I purchased a shop manual that was published in Austrailia, by Gregory's Scientific Publications. It covers the '60-'70 Aussie Six-Cylinder (144-221ci) Falcons - Vol #62, so it's pretty close to what was offered in the USA. The entire hardback book (290 pgs) is dedicated solely to the inline sixes (engines, drivetrain, suspension, and brakes), so there's a lot of detail info. If I remember correctly I bought it online (Border's) for about $25 bucks. While it was a used copy, it was in excellent condition. I also purchased the 70-79 6-cyl Falcon/Fairlane - Vol #155.

If you can find it I have a Haynes manual for the 1979 4cyl and inline six Capri/Mustang and it had a whole section on the 200 inline six and all the torque specs and bolt sequences.

The book accidently came apart while moving but I will check to see if I still have the inline six part.
