Replacing Seals and Gaskets

I have the engine out of my '66. I'm swapping to a T5 and while the engine is on the stand, I figure its a good time to replace the rear main seal among other things. I have to replace the oil pan anyway. I thought I would do the front seal also. Is there a tech article I can read about this? I don't have any kind of manual. Feel free to scan and email any info you might have. ;)

I have lots of mechanical experience but have not done this on a 200 yet. I figure its pretty straight forward but thought I would ask if there's anything I should watch out for. Thought I would check the timing chain also. May just go with a double-roller and be done with it. Anyone know where I can get one?

My engine only has 41k original miles on it but I thought changing to a roller chain would be cheap insurance.

You can get the double roller from Mike at fordsixparts!

One thing to check is see if there is any wear on the harmonic balancer "snout" if there is install a seal saver so you dont get a oil leak there! :D :D

Might be a good time to install a new oil pump/clean pickup screen since youre right there also!

Later,

Doug
