I dont know if this is a commom problem but when I went to fit my "bolt on"
adjustable roller rockers I ran into some trouble

They bolt on fine and work like they should but when the time came to fit the rocker cover the dramas began the bl :o :o dy thing wouldnt fit because the roller rockers were too tall, I first thought that it was just the cable relief so I had it cut out and a plate tigged in

Back at home I tried to fit it again but had no luck the cover just had no room so after many curse words I went and got some 10mm alloy plate and made a spacer to fit between the cover and the head now all is fine

Nice rockers. Somewhere, there's a Clevo owner wondering why his car suddenly came over all faint.

You'll have to anodise the spacer or polish it! Wonder if it'd be possible to secure it permanently to the head with some countersunk Allen head screws and Loctite.

So... You used the bolt holes to secure the spacer while machining it?

Addo you read my mind about anodising, Seeing as it costs me nothing
But what color? purple would stand out well so would red or blue so many choices

Making it was a royal pain in the back
I cut the bacic shape with a jig saw (a 2 hour job) then fixed it to some chip boared and cleaned it up with a vertical mill then gave it a quick linish

I could spin up some trick studs to permanently fix it to the head They would have a a seat in the middle of the shank that would sit in countersunk holes in the plate

Kinda like this

Im not too sure about making them for others as its quite a costly exercise the 10mm alloy billet was $70 ($35 for 6mm) and thats getting it at cost plus 3hrs labour it would end up costing about $150 and thats for mill finish no anodising or bolts or any profit for me :D

Im going to make a heap of fuel pump block off plates and some water pump blocking plates for when I get my electric water pump, These would be cheap to make so I may sell some
Ill post pics when finished

looks good, much better than my two cork gaskets stuck together :)

Gas, that is neat custom work. Well done. You only get out of something what you put into it. With roller rockers and nitrous, your gonna be rolling in the isle laughing whilst enjoying 12 second timeslips. Rock on!

nice custom work for a hose mick.the rockers only touch on efi rocker covers if you put them on a cast iron head as the distance between where rockers mount and rocker cover rail is lower than an alloy head so roller rockers will clear on all alloy head motors,no worries.remember they cleared on pacer dicks donk gassed!!!don't anodise man, just bolt it on and get the bloody thing wound up for christ's sake.who gives a toss what it looks like as long as it works toward making it haul some holden kikin ass!!!! cheers wonk

C'Mon Knowlz you should know that I like things to look swank

If I had Idey's Crane rockers on my engine I probly wouldn't have this problem as his are non adjustable and dont have a bolt that sticks up an extra 10mm, Plus his engine being a turbo was fitted with a fairly mild cam and certainly didn't have over 300#(cam) lift

With the plate on and at full lift I have about 3mm clearance between the adjuster bolt and the cover

Did you have to chop out the rocker cover where the kickdown cable runs? Because thats what i had to do to mine

Here is my little fuel pump blocking plate
They take about 20mins to make

I understand what your doing with the fuel blocking plate, and I actually should consider an electric fuel pump for my engine. That would eliminate the return line problem I have. But what are you doing with the water pump? You engine looks great and is giving me all kinds of ideas for mine. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing it with the rest of the world.

Thanks Speedy

The thing about my water pump is Im going to remove it and use an electric pump So I need a plate that will go over the hole

I will post pics when its done

Im also removing the alternator it will be running of the tail shaft and will be mounted to the diff
