Sorry, it was a long process typing this out, and I posted it as-is, rather than have a chrome crash lose it. I'll try to provide further clarity.
I don't yet know what the A/B/F/P/X codes denote. I felt verbosity was preferrable considering I'm largely ignorant of Ford parts and accessory catalogues. I didn't want to miss anything. If it ended up being important, I didn't want to discard it.
Yes, the 2A881 and 2882 (Group Number) parts are all Air Conditioner parts. 2A881 is "Support - Air Conditioner Compressor Mounting Bracket", and 2882 is Bracket - Air Conditioner Compressor Mounting. They are all listed as "With A/C", "With Integral A/C", and "With Hang-On A/C".
Some part numbers spanned years, some had rapid revisions. All the full part numbers I listed were marked 6 Cyl, 6 Cyl (170,200), or 6 Cyl (250). Almost always the part was listed as just 6 Cyl, rarely was there a (170,200) or (250) designation, and I never saw a (240) designation, though that is covered in the book. If I can, I'll build an image with the part drawings and their designated usage, but that'll take some time.
A small primer on part numbers, take C8OZ 2882-B. First digit is decade (C=60's), second is year (so 68), third is model (O is Fairlane, Torino 1969-76), fourth is Design Engineering office (Z= Ford Service Parts). The 2882 is the Group number or Basic Part Number, and the -B is a revision number, so second revision of that part.
