So, whats involved?I see kits for 351 windsor engines. Anybody know of a source, or whether the crank diameter is the same?Would I have to have them custom made?Trying to get some idea of whats involved in putting a supercharger on.

Hmmmm........ interesting  Sounds to me like you are on an adventure sorta like the Starship Enterprise: To boldly go where no man has gone before :P

Time to break out the calipers and dust off the drawing board; I sincerely doubt that you will find any ready-made kits for this project.
I like it.

I think it would be easier to change the supercharger pulley from a serpentine belt to a double v-grove. I helped my dad (mustangaroo) do it on his 68' mustang. It has never jumped a belt in 5 years as a daily driver. He drives about 5-10 miles per day.

Thanks, Joe :D OOOOOH! I thought superchargers HAD to have serpentine belts, cause of the speed they turn. I had discounted the idea of putting a Vbelt on the supercharger, but that would make it a lot easier/more doable.Just to be clear, are you saying your running double belts to the supercharger?
Found a used, (seller says its 'good as new', hafta put a dial indicator on it to check) Magna blower off a 3.8 liter buick. Comes with throttle body I won't need.$ he's askin is doable, IF it doesn't need a rebuild.Just trying to get an idea of what else is involved. Should have plenty of room, under the hood.Would be blowin into a Predator carb, to a Clifford intake.
So, you found a double Vbelt pulley, and adapted it to go on the shaft of the blower? How tough was that? PLEASE provide more DETAILS!If that solves the belt problem, and mounting isn't a challenge, what am I missing?Oh, yeah; detonation issues.Ideally, would like to run on reg. gas.Not looking to race it,am actually hoping to improve economy, while having more torque for pulling my trailer.
Heres what I have; '65, 262 engine, 100,000 miles, running when pulled, with York a/c compressor.
NOS; head, rocker arm assembly, stantions for 2 bolt valve cover, 2 bolt valve cover, hardened exhaust seats,I&E valves, and springs. Timing gear set, oil and water pump. Duramax dist, and NOS distr. gear, and stock cam.
Predator carb and rebuild kit and Clifford 4 barrel intake.Haven't committed on exhaust, yet.Haven't done anything to engine yet, just cleaned off outside and stored.Have been trying to edumacate myself about head porting, gasket matching and piston/ combustion chamber shapes, singh grooves, etc.Would like to go with 'gapless' top rings, and considering ceramic coating, although I'm reading to do it right takes a lot of prep.

Thanks for the pic! Can't tell, did you make the superchargers pulley into a double v-belt pulley, or did you take a double v-belt pulley, and make it fit the supercharger, or make a pulley from scratch? Details, please.

The supercharger came the a 5 ribbed serp belt pulley, then we made a called Paxton Supercharger in San Diego. Luck would have it the had it in stock.I would think it not be that much trouble to convert a junk yard double pulley to fit your aplacation. Machinist could cut a key way or pulley inside dia larger. Get in tough with a machinist and ask lots of questions. I would think it would be cheap/easier to custom fit ONE pulley rather 3 or 4 pulley.

" I would think it would be cheap/easier to custom fit ONE pulley rather 3 or 4 pulley". My thoughts, exactly! Especially when you include getting them all to line up, water pump, etc.
"Machinist could cut a key way or pulley inside dia larger. Get in tough with a machinist and ask lots of questions."I'm in tough with one, already. Had him do some work for me, before. He has a small operation, kind of a 1 man show. He takes small jobs the bigger shops job out to him.If I take something like this to him, and give him a week or 2 to fit it in between his bigger/ more important (to him) jobs, he gives me a pretty good price.
Regarding 'junk yard pulley', looked at my truck this a.m.; the alternator puley is a doubleV, and its about the same diameter. This is actually starting to look doable. Now I need a dial indicator, to see what kind of shape this supercharger is in. Maybe I can borrow 1 from the machinist.Haven't bought the charger yet, been wanting to 'think it thru', first. This thread has helped me alot, to sort it out! Thanks for the encouragement, and the tips! I'll let ya know if I buy it. Even if I don't buy this one, I think I'm gonna get one.
