Shutting Off

Get home tonight, pull in the garage and turn the key to off. Motor does not shut down. I should say everything else shuts down except for the motor. What causes this? I ended up pulling the wire from the coil to shut it down. Hooked it back up and everything is working fine. Starts/shut down, etc. Could something have gotten a little warm? Thanks

Hows the ignistion switch? If it's still an org. maybe worn where its maybe sticking.

8) sometimes the ignition switch fails to fully release from the run position. other times the alternator still feeds the ignition system.

the first problem can be cured by replacing the ignition switch. if you are running an msd ignition, you can place a diode in the power feed to the battery to prevent the alternator from powering the ignition box.
