side exiting exhaust plus subframe connectors ?

My 66 Mustang needs a new exhaust system. I want to have duals that exit in front of the rear tire.

I also want to add subframe connectors, would they interferer with side exiting exhaust?

Thanks,

Mitch

do the subframe connectors first, then you can tuck the exhaust around the connectors. This shouldn't be much harder than doing the exhaust that you want without the connectors.

I don't know of a kit to do the side exhaust that is off the shelf (I may be wrong), so I think the exhaust will be a custom job to begin with... any muffler shop should be able to do this.

I do most of my own exhaust work with cheap tools, if you have a reliable welder and a tubing bender, you can do it yourself... save some money...

Let us know how it went...

It should clear. The subframe connector goes from the rear suspension torque box to the front clip frame extension. Side exit exhaust will go under the torque box so frame connectors won't get in the way. You may have trouble with finding a muffler to fit though. You could always hang one side of some Cobra exhaust on it.

Thanks guys, sounds like a plan. Luckily I live close to NPD, so I just ran up there and picked up a set of SFC. Seems there are a lot of choices in that department. Some of the stuff I've read suggested to get the bolt on version and then once bolted in place, weld them also. So that is my plan.

Once I get that done, I'll take it to the muffler shop.

Regards,

Mitch
