smooth or rough? Clifford Adapter

My Clifford adapter -- the inside is quite rough. Any benefit to to polishing it? Help or hurt fuel atomization?

And intake? (sorry, this is the 1bbl to 2bbl adapter to replace the Stovebolt I have now.)

AFAIK a rougher surface will help keep the fuel in suspension, especially in bends. That's why when you port the intake side, you don't polish it. In the exhaust, there's nothing to keep suspended, you just want it out of there.

Oops. Intake ports should not be completely smooth. The tiny bit of rolling turbulence keeps fuel in suspension and off the walls. Avoid sharp corners at all costs however.

Yeah. Look down the intake manifold throat and see all the ribs in there for turbulence. Bigger hole in the adapter. That's what you really want.

Got it. It's in, it's still rough, no vacuum leaks, and it's working really well.

The hesitation in my 5200 when the secondary opens up is gone too. Probably a vacuum leak in the Stovebolt setup.
