i think its time to realy start on my engine build. i'm going with a fuel injeced 300 out of an 89 ford van. twin turboed and a megga squirt computer. i read on http://www.diyautotune.com/ site that it can run a distributorless ignition system so i want to try that (anybody have any ideas how to run the oil pump without a distributor?) and im thinking wince there are two exhaust manifolds and two intake holes that i need two small turbos instead of one big one. does anybody know what a good cam would be for this build? im aiming for low end torque for pulling purpouses and i also want fuel economy. im thinking going about 8-8.5:1 compression and some forged pistons should make the engine more than handle it. anyway i will update as i go so for now thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

So exactly how much money do you have to spend?

For the oil pump you could use the distributor shaft, maybe cut it when it comes out of the block and, I dunno, put a guard over it so it doesn't catch a finger. It all depends on how ghetto you want to go. There are probably custom gear/shaft things built for that purpose.

Why does everybody suddenly have cash but me?

im hoping to keep it under 3 grand but yah right. i dont have any money yet but i have a job now so i can start buying parts a little every paycheck. was thinkins modify the distributor but i dont want it to look ghetto so im not sure if that will work. i know some rangers had a oil pump drive where a distributor would go but if i remember correctly it was quite a bit different than what i need.

I'd probably stick with the stock dizzy for now. For me at least, a standalone fuel management computer would be enough to occupy me for a while. Maybe get a broadband O2 sensor to help with tuning. Nothing will give you better feedback, whether naturally aspirated or turbo'd.

do you mean the stock efi dizzy or the stock carbed dizzy. i have both but whatever i do now will probably be permanent seeing as i hate to park my truck for long periods of time.
