I am having a problem with my 71, seems the last couple of times I have driven it I get this racheting in the steering wheel. and you can hear it as well. it happened once or twice a week or so ago and then last night I was moving it to get the 66 out of the garage and it was doing it most of the time.

any suggestions?

BTW the wiring harness is finally done in the 66. we took it on a test drive last night, it sure was good to have it back on the road. today it's going to be legalized.

:? *could the brakes be grabbing on one side???maybe u need a new steering box???ummm.....alignment??? :? i have experienced a ratcheting on the wheel when my brakes seized on me....maybe check em out.....hope this helps coming from someone who isnt all that great at trouble shooting....

manual, and it is both a sensation and a noise.

car runs fine, it doesn't feel like brakes locking or grabbing.

I have not been to familiar with the steering or suspension of my cars yet so I have to ask questions, can't trouble shoot what you don't know.

Jack the front wheels clear of the ground, and see how noticeable it is with such a low resistance to turning. You might be able to pinpoint the source of any noise that way.
