Stovebolt doesnt have an electric choke h/w 5200

I ordered a H/W 5200 2bbl carb with an electric choke from Stovebolt and I got an email from Tom saying they "no longer have this carb with an electric choke available to us - only the water heated choke." On this webpage (by a member of the Ford Six forums but I dont know his handle) he says "I made sure to get one with the electric choke, because the stock water-valve choke would be challenging to setup." Should I go with the water heated choke carb from Tom or is there another place where I can find an electric choke version of the H/W 5200? Why is the water heated choke version harder to setup than the electric choke version?

Thanks,

Justin

Go to your local wrecking yard and pull the part off a ford escort, mustang, or many other Jap cars, you can remove the electric choke and install it on your new carb, no problem............

i just took the electric choke off of the junk smog carb that i had

Great! I think I might even have that part on the '84 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup in my driveway that isn't running. It has an inline 6cyl engine and it uses a 2bbl Rochester carburetor. I will take a look today. Thanks. :D

Man that's hard to believe! I just saw the electric choke version on his website the other day. Is he not offering it anymore or is it a different carb than he wants you to use for your Ford six?

i don't think it is him that is causing this deal, he has a supplier that sends the carbs to him, so they must be the ones doing it

Thanks. I have those same wheels down in my basement. I picked them up for free but they have alot of curb damage. I think they look pretty good on a Vintage Mustang. :D
