the engine runs great, my oil pressure is very good, it doesnt sound like a lifter, what can it be, it sounds like its in the center of the engine, or right under the valve cover, what can it be

I think it might be the cam moving back and forth, thats the only thing i can think of
What did you do to the cam that would cause that ? , just asking
i didnt touch it, but it sounds like its in that area, my oil pressure is good, stays at 40psi i dont think its rod knock or anything like that, its very loud in park
You need to back track , What did I do that could cause this , if it didn't do it before , then its something new keep that in mind when Diagnosing
it did it before but not as loud, im going to find out tomorrow its anoying
what about a sticky fuel pump lever tapping the cam?
it could be, thanks for the input everyone, any other sugestions on where to look or any common problems that exist, let me know ill check em out
Look at the Oil pan is it dented in?
the pan is straight, i know the noise is coming from either the top of the engine or the center
If it's a fuel pump you probably can feel it if you put you hand on it. Other than that use an old broom handle and listen at different areas until you find the loudest point

yeah i still got them, last time i kept up with a lightning off the line before i got smoked, and i almost beat my buddy with the honda but my engine cant rev to 7000 or whatever they rev to
Well than that Honda may get a little surprise now 
Yeah that is the same for my old 250 Mav almost pure stock it starts to flaten out at the top. As far as 7000 RPM, the right amout of torque can take care of that

when the outer carbs open i dont think he will be able to keep up no matter how high the rpm :mrgreen:
Did you get your chassis tune or setup right for the drags?
