With about 1/4" of clearance!!!!

I used a Transdapt adapter from Summit. The one without a vacuum take off. Then got a used a Autolite 2100 and rebuild kit.

I installed a Lokar throttle cable and V-8 pedal assembly.

I topped it with a 1 7/8" drop base air filter from Summit. It originally had a 2" element, I replaced it with a 2.5" element as the top of the filter housing was just touching the choke. ]

I tapped out the top of the (concave) chrome air cleaner cover with a rubber BFH to clear the choke. Now the center is slightly domed.

Now it fits with just a wee bit a room to spare. Like 1/4" under the hood when closed. But IT FITS!!!! Lots of trial and error.

Here is the finished product and a look under the cover.

Steve-O,
How's she run? I did the same conversion, with the same parts, and I've been having bad stumble off idle and surging problems at cruise. When I get on the throttle she hauls azz but just driving I have to feather the pedal or she almost stalls. It's the worst right after the trans shifts while starting off. As soon as it changes gears the stumble almost shuts the car off. What size 2100 did you use?

I have a 1.14 2100. I have had no problems. Compared to my 1100 it much better now.

She runs good, idles well, and has not stalled or hesitated yet. My car is a manual 3 speed. But it will screech the tires if I open it up from a stop now...NEVER did that before with the 1100.

I have a clean Holley 350 (7448) I'm rebuilding and may try that later just to see how it works as well.

I have a 1.08 and a 1.14 2100. I've run both with the saem problem. I'm starting to think its a timing problem from the Duraspark conversion and not the carbs.

I agree with you anything is beeter than the 1100.

yeah could be a timing problem... maybe somthing with the vaccum advance?
