Howdy 66200:

Sugar? or Salt?

How much? In to how many gallons of gas?

The safe thing to do, when in doubt, is to remove, drain and flush the tank. That's easy to say, but so much work to do. Simply siphoning of the contents of the tank won't get anything that is not in suspension.

Other details and investigative info- Is the engine still able to run? How well, or badly? Do you have a filter between the tank and your fuel pump?

Sorry to give more questions than answers, but that's the nature of problem solving over the internet.

sorry I didn't realise I put down sugar and salt. well I dont know wich one it is if any. yesterday morining I went to leave the car started fine but after I minute it started idleing real bad and it seemed like when I gave it gas it didn't do anything.(I am still in my car port at this time) so after looking under the hood just clancing I didn't see anything wrong. so I walked around the car and noticed my gas tank door was hanging. and alitle bit of white grain was there. well me being stupid cleaned it off with out figering out what it was. well thats the story.

ok so to answer the questions. it isn't starting

there maybe A quarter of a tank of gas."gauge is alitle off"

and I amnot shure about the filter between my gas tank and the fuel pump. the caris A 66 mustang 200 inline 3 speed manual.

thank for your help.

There should not be a filter that woudl stop sugar between the tank and the pump.

Have you done somethign to piss someone off?

Bill

I can't think of anything I have done. but I just bought the car from my older brother A couple of months ago and he has lots of enemies. so maybe.

ok here is what I did. I took the top half of the carburater off and didn't see anything that shouldn't be there. and my friends friend had A 65 that he was parting out so I took the gas tank and lines from that. went to my local parts house and bought A fuel pump and fuel filter. I got the old fuel tank out. I should have every thing put back together around midnight tonight. I will let you know how it goes.

thanks
