T-5 lubricant

Just picked up a good T-5 [ '89 4cyl ]. Looks like it uses automatic trans. fluid as a lubricant. Anyone know what type ATF is correct? Also there are two electrical connectors - one should be the reverse back- up light switch, but what would the other one be? Thanks.

I think it' Mercon-dexron 3.

If you go the the parts counter at Autozone, or the like, they should be able to tell you.

The other switch is the neutral safety switch. You can confirm which switch is which by putting a continuity tester onto the terminals and one will show continuity when it is in neutral, the other when it is in reverse.

The neutral switch is the one at thefront ofthe top cover.
