Thermal advantage to coatings?

Here's the set of pipes I mentioned earlier.
I sent them away for some repairs, and had them recoated as well.

It used a slipjoint with a bracket on the extractors and the exhaust pipe, doesn't sound that flash ... but it never leaked :?

I had always used one of those small bosch reduction drive starter motors, so I didn't really have any issues there. Getting them into a Cortina engine bay was a little challenging at first though. You have to leave the driver's side enging mount undone, jack the motor up a bit, and kind of corkscrew the pipes down past the bellhousing. That took a lot of head scratching and swearing the first time !! :shock:

This is very interesting and great info. i was mainly thinking bout getting them done for durability and keeping the intake manifold from soaking up any extra heat. im not concerned about the price, because im only going to do things once and im gunna do it right.
