Thinking of more upgrades.... suggestions?

Currently my lil 200 is basically stock save for some bolt-ons and a bit higher compression.

I have dual headers into 2" duals w/ Hpipe
Carter YF carb
8" rear with 3.50:1 gears
Pertronix in the factory load-o-matic

The car is about to become my daily driver for an untold period of time and it could really use a bit more power, especially for highway passing. Since I'm currently getting 15mpg in town I would love better mileage as well.

So I'm thinking of adding a Holley 2300 and DSII w/ MSD6aL and eventually a ram-air after I settle on the carb setup I'll be using. I'm hoping these would help out with my power and mileage improvements as well as cure the off-idle sluggishness I'm having with the YF. Would this be worthwhile? If so, any guess at the improvements I might see?

Thanks,
Dieseler

The 2V upgrade is nice, especially since you have the headers already there.

The DS2 is optional. You can add the MSD to pertronix and it runs just as well as with the DS2.

Consider a cam swap or investing in a higher ratio roller tipped rockers (if you don't want to mess with swapping cams). That will really let your engine utilize the 2300 and the header's potention.

The current distributor (pun noted) will not be running exactly as intended with the Carter F carb "driving" it. That is almost certainly part of the sluggishness you feel at present. Probably your first mod would be a DS-II or 67-up points dizzy.

I had never even considered the dizzy not being matched to the carb anymore! I'll deffinetly have to look into that over my next break.

Any clue if there is much of a mileage improvement to be found in the carb/dizzy upgrades? I got to do alot of highway driving yesterday.... and 15mpg intown or on highway is a bit dissapointing. Overdrive is deffinetly in the eventual future, crusing at 75mph is a bit deafening!
