This head any good?

Howdy Paul:

This C9 head will be almost identical to your '67 (C7) head. And being from Calif. may be a "Calif only" early smog head with air injection tubes pressed into the exhaust ports. Unless you're doing a period restoration, I'd pass on this head.

For a performance and durability head upgrade look for castings D7XX and later. That's where you'll be sure to get hardened seat inserts, a 1.75" intake valve, a 1.75" carb hole and larger intake tract volume.

Adios, David

Anyone got a D7 head? I can't find any non-cali heads in my area. :(

HELLO 65'

THAT IS A 1969 170 CU.IN. HEAD. THE HEAD IS A "a" NOT A "R"...!

IF YOU NEED A HEAD CHEAP THEN IT WOULD WORK. IT WILL GIVE YOU HIGHER COMPRESSION RATIO. CLOSE TO 9.3 TO 9.5.

ASK IF THE CARB. OPENING IS 1.75. IF IT IS THEN YOU HAVE THE EARLY 1970 HEAD CHANGES. HAVE THE PERSON MEASURE IT FOR YOU.

I'M RUNNING A 1970 ON MY 200. IT HAS MUCH BETTER HIGH END RPM. THE TORQUE IS MUCH STRONGER TOO!

LOTS OF LUCK....LOL.
