A heads up!!!

Just recieved an email. Dated 10/14/24 @ 2:58 pm.

I hope I’m not overstepping my boundaries for posting the information below but, I thought it’s important since it’s good news for small block Ford inline sixer’s.

Cylinder Head Update- October 2024

This is the latest update, but still not an invitation to order, sorry. Please do not email me or call to ask if you are on the lists. I have not been adding names to the email contact list because it grew so large and so much time had passed that it was no longer up to date. I am investigating how to create a form on the website specifically to create a new list of interested customers.

There is news to report. The company I was trying to work with is under new ownership. I have been in touch with the new owners and they are interested in proceeding with the cylinder heads. Timing is not determined but work is being done to create the digital model that will be needed for machining and the foundry has been re-engaged.

My plan is still to contact everyone from the original waiting list to give them the first chance to get one of the heads. Then, I'll make them available through the website. I will probably pre-sell when the heads are almost ready. I need to do this to pay for them when they are made.

Thanks for your patience,

Matt

"A heads up!!!"

I see what you did there...

In all seriousness, this is great news. It must be really frustrating for Matt to have a product that lots of people want to give him their hard-earned money for, and have supplier/maker issues that have prevented it from being made and sold.

Matt covered it pretty well what’s happening in the second and third paragraph.

The best thing is, be patient and see how things work out. Let’s hope for the best.

boy, has he been hammered on. Me? might walk away, it’s no fun...

You have a job to do, you do it to the best of your abilities. If someone doesn’t like it, it’s on them, they can go somewhere else. That being said, communication is part of do your job, doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad news👍

What I call “a getting close” which seems to go on for ever. We’re such a small market to these guys (foundries, major machinest) we just create a pain for some of them. Mike’n Matt find folk who DO see advantage but it’s time consuming. Oz & Argie contnued to make the i6 after we stopped and some of these pages show just what that can mean. Here’s to the two mentioned. (I guess we lost the ‘big party' .gif). The head’s not for a 'work truck bronco' but I appreciate ur dedication & work.

This is another example of what happens when all our manufacturing is done over seas. There’s less and less places that can do real work!

that’s Y Matt brought it home.
Originater (Mike W who started the site)
did it in Oz.

Australians get sh*t done....

There is a reason why this product has remained dormant for so long since its ended up in its current location...
Ouch! Can't argue with the facts, though. 🤷‍♂️
Let's keep our fingers crossed that this latest update leads to a new era of stateside aluminum heads.

many reasons.
I see plenty of negative comment.
Is there anyway to turn that around? For me it runs counter to the site and how things usually go here.

“...since it ended up in its current location..."
and how long has that been?

I think he was just giving us Americans a hard time. If you’ve ever hung out with Aussies, that is an integral part of their sense of humour. Don’t take it too seriously. I lived and worked in Asia with several Aussies, and they never missed a chance to give me, or each other, a good ribbing.

ur right. That’s Y I left our Aussie forum. It lightens up w/time and the individual’s response.
It can get out of hand. I saw upon occasion be-little-ment/chest puffing that was ridiculous
as it had no response of alternatives. “This sucks & U blew it.” but nothing of how it could
workably be done different. All the facts werent even in hand as the questioner really did
not lay out much detail. I see others come here in a different spirit and I think it’s a building
approach for the site, the individual, those who observe & or comment..
Thnx 4 da reminder. Justa different culture and a different approach to what this site is. I
probably seem odd too.
One of me buds used this sense to great effect. Just as our shores got radid by the Nigerian scammers so too did Oz.
They picked it up from ‘Go” and played the scammer. Seemed like lill ol ladies, posted back that way, led THEM on
instead of the other way, and all but got money out of them stead of the other way. Great to see used in That instance.

You are right on the money, funkaholic

Thanks. My dad had the same sense of humour, so I grew up with it. There are lots of people, especially here in California, who are looking to be offended at anything they can, so they definitely don't get it.

OK, enough off-track rants. I hope Matt can get his parts made asap, wherever he can.

Hi Team,

I’m in desperate need for a cylinder head for my in line six engine - 1966 mustang

Anyone have any ideas where I can source one from?

Or how do I access the above website to pre order when they do become available

@Darrenjay Are you specifically looking to purchase one of these aluminum heads (there is no current delivery date and the waiting list is currently closed) or do you just need a working head to get your Mustang running? The second option should be quite easy, as members here, craigslist, FB marketplace, and local wrecking yards often have heads available. Where are you located?
