Throttle Linkage will this work??

Hi,
I am working on a 60 Falcon with a 200 and a Carter YF, the arm on the carb is turned paralel to the fire wall. When you push on the gas the arm in the engine compartment pulls back.

Can I run a throttle cable from the existing arm (on the passanger side when standing at the front of the engine looking at it) around to the drivers side along the valve cover up over to the carb and attatch to the ball? This should make the cable pull the carb arm shouldn't it??

Help lost and confused in Central Florida

Thanks
Chris

I had the same problem with my stang here is what I did. I built an adaptor out of 3/4" aluminumn so that I could turn the carb a quarter turn. Then I had to bend up the metal piece that runs along the firewall I made a little adaptor to attach a threaded rod which attached to the carb. So far it is working great. The problem with switching to a cable is that you will have a problem with the auto trans kickdown.

This was a real pita until i figured it out. If someone can tell me how to post pics, I would be happy to post one.
