i installed my clifford headers on my 200, and now i'm not sure where to put the return spring for the carb seeing as how the nifty little flange that was on the old exhaust manifold/pipe is no longer required. suggestions? pics? any guidance would be appreciated.

also, has anyone had trouble with clifford performance? i am STILL waiting for my carb adapter to bolt on my weber, i ordered it in april, and every time i call them they blame the machinist being behind in his work. is it time to get nasty with them?
thanks

Actually, I was wondering the same thing about the return spring. For the last year, I have been going without one and gravity seemed to be working fine but lately that is not working so well.

THe last few times I have driven it (and it seems to get worse every time), the pedel seems to stick. It has gotten so bad, on the freeway I am having to pull back on the pedel to stop accellerating. This has now become a safty issue...

My '66 block has a threaded hole cast into it directly below the carb down by the oil pan. I measured up a 6" piece of steel, drilled a hole at each end & bolted it to the block. My return spring attaches the the top hole a in the steel bar and works fllawlessly.

CFMustang, my old Autolite used to run really good using gravity as a return mechanism. Occasionally it would stick open, but nothing that lifting up on the pedal w/my shoe wouldn't fix. Anyhow hooking the spring up to it made her a dog. Guess mustang's the linkage really is that weak & flexy if a worn out spring could stop it's travel. I've adjusted many times trying to correct, never could get the right tension/travel ratio.

i just took a hose clamp and put it on the header, then put the spring on that, works fine for me, but i'm not sure if i'm oing to have it that way after i get the header ceramic coated.
