All Small Six Thrush Pipes on a 250ci?

This relates to all small sixes
... true side pipes need to exit behind front wheel well. to accomplish needs either no mufflers, U turn pipes after mufflers, or simple mufflers in the side pipes.

simpler solution is short mufflers and exits at front of rear wheel wells with a few pre-bent angles.

I love classic thrush pipes. The only complete set on Ebay right now is 1900. An incomplete set is 750.
 
FWIW - many side pipes create significant backpressure. Frieburger put them on an LS-powered Chevy van, and they killed A LOT of horsepower.
 
there is So Much variety in exhausts. To me it seems much more there than elsewhere. But I am not gunna sit'n think abt it. (at least 3 designs of muffler, modifications in sound, resonators, location, it just goes on'n on).

For 'side pipes' (not sure what 'thrush' is) I think of the amount of real estate to play with (rocker, door, ground clearance & more). U could divert to both sides but would need to come quickly cross chassy for driver's side. The readily available 3 inta 2 shorties we have could work - just need to come thru near lotsa other stuff (starter, transmis, clutch articulation, etc. I assume no lowering of suspension as is popular now. Not sure the typical (will hafta look nxt time something comes in) hangars but bet they're like the 'out riggers' for the truck step.

I prefer a rocker exit but have not designed my 'thimble' (like the roof thimble ona wood stove pipe) yet. And this is a jeep type thing too (some off rd maneuvering). Dont give up, continue to think thru, post up ideas if wanting feed back~

running w/o muffler is OK for engines as far as I no. Is that ur Q?
 
Check the local ordinance for the decibel limit. I got a ticket once on a Harley with straight pipes.

do not follow it U may B "expelled" (not get on that strip). B a shame
to make sompin that can not 'go anywhere' (time, money, hope, ignorance).
It is a pretty expensive hobby round here (example: we cant drive w/o a 1K$
fire suit & that's just the beginning). Could B totally different dependent on national
region, class, etc. This yr, as an 8 second car, we needed a parachute - to even show up.

That's interesting. I have never read up on any of this, I've just seen enough to know that I want to try it.
