Timing Chain tightness

I took my oil pan off to change the gasket and was doing a look see on a motor I just bought and I think the timing chain may be too loose. Not sure. The motor has approx. 35k on it.

Next question is how tight should it be. From the front (where the crank pulley is) I can get one finger underneath it. It's not terribly loose, but I was expecting tighter than that.

What gives.

you can get a finger between the crank sprocket and chain?

theyre cheap, i would go ahead and replace it if your having any doubts about it.

When, you replace the timing chain get the roller chain from Mike @ classic inlines.
The stock replacement link chains are junk.
Spend the money once & be done with timing chain wear. Bill

Yes, it could be ok, I was expecting it to be tighter.
