Everything worked beautifully...
I can't believe how much slack there was in the old timing set... because where I could move the old one about an inch deflection, this one has virtually no play!
Buttoned it all up, and it fired right away! With the slack out of the timing set, the timing showed itself to be about 6*ATDC (not bad considering I had no mark before), so I brought it back to 4*BTDC... purrs nicely! Big difference in the appearance of the new crank pulley simply in the condition of the shock absorbing ring!
Now with the engine happy, I'll be moving on to the significant rust repairs that exist! Also replaced a couple doors and some hardware, so my econoline is practically complete... everything is there for my resto to begin!
