Success, I found a shop that will produce high stall converters for us, at a reasonable price. If you supply the core, a 2800rpm converter will run $225 (core charge $50). Turn around time is about 7 days. I think the best anyones been quoted so far is just under $400 (no core charge).

This is a really good deal!!

I was pricing them myself and the cheapest i found for a 2800-3000 stall converter was $389.00+shipping and some of the quotes I recieved was in the $500-$550 range!

IMO, anyone with a cam of 270 or above should get one. A converter and a decent set of 3:20-3:50 gears will really help out on the starting line!

I guess I'll be the 1st one to order!!

Later,

Doug

Is that $225 + $50 core or $225 - $50 core? Mike, are they local to you? Do we send the TC core to you?

If they supply the core - $275 (but he told me that mat go up as they don't have very many cores) If you have a core to send - $225

Yes, they are local. Don't know why I never thought of checking with them until last week. They did a driveshaft for me a couple years ago.

Thanks Mike. i imagine shipping a TC isn't cheap across country either.
