Howdy,

I'm replacing my old C4 with a new C4 tomorrow. Any tips on doing this? Should I use any special Trans "magic" fluids, ect... Anyway, help is appriciated.
Thanks!

I can't give you any tips on the swap but as far as magic additives the olny one I ever heard of that really did anything was the lucus trans additive. The tranny guy that I go to (about 30 years experiance) puts it in every automatic he works on. Good Luck with the swap.

Check with your tranny guru, and ask if you have "new style" clutches. If you do, then you may use Dexron/Mercon fluid, instead of Type F. Mercon/Dexron is a better lubicant, and has a higher viscosity. My tranny mech had originally offered me the choice, but I had already bought the Type F, and went with it. I switched in 2000, after getting leakage out the front seal when running hot and heavy.
Last year I drove over 4000 miles cross-country at high speed, with nary a leak. :D
