tri-power stalling

After several years of running great the engine stalls unless i partially choke the carb. It began as an intermittent problem and now is constant. thought perhaps a vacuum issue but cant find a problem, any ideas?

What carburetors are you using?
I'd guess your accelerator pump is bad/not working properly. That sounds like the problem I had with my single carb Autolite 1100.

What carbs are you running? Seeing that it was running good for a few years, I'd lean torward a vacuum leak as well. Did you check around the base of the manifold - assuming you're running an Offy set up? Are you sure the outer throttle plates are still completely returning to closed - assuming you're idling off the center? Maybe try a carb swap (one of the outers to the center to see if that helps). Good luck, keep posting on what you're finding...

Does you manifold use o-rings between it and the original manifold? If so, they may have deteriorated, creating a vacuum leak.

If you don’t find a vacuum leak and you have and old gas tank, might want to pop the tops off of the carbs and take a look inside. Even though I was running extra filters I still got a lot of crap built up inside that clogged up the jets. A nice new tank and I was back in business.
