Could I install a 180 degree u pipe on the bottem of the stock exhaust manifold and mount the turbo there? Some how there would need to be a way to mount the turbo so that there's no stress on the u pipe. But other than that would it still work? A turbo from a 2.5L Dodge motor would match good with a 144 or a 170. Would it be possible to make about 200 HP out of a turbo'd 144?

Thanks

Ol Boy,
That's the same thing that "ImportKiller" did on his car. Do a search for his User name and I'm sure you'll find more info.
I haven't heard any more news on his car lately. I know it was up and running and running pretty good as I recall.
Later,
Will

Okay, I've been doing alot of reading. That's some good stuff right there. I fell that I have been properly schooled. One question I have is did you guyes ever figure out the clutch problem with the 75 shot of NOS? I guess the flywheels get bigger with the later 200 and 250's. Now my head hurts. Later.

I'm using a "J" shaped pipe from the exhaust manifold to the turbo. I'm using a complete 78-79 Buick turbo setup, so the compressor outlet mounts to the intake manifold's carb base. It's a Quadrajet draw-through. I'm making the J pipe this weekend. The turbo is mounted to an adapter plate on the intake manifold. The plenum for the Q-jet is directly over the rocker arm cover. Making various lines and doing mock up before taking it apart for final assembly. Looks like the down pipe is going to be a bit of a problem--odd flange and parts are somewhat difficult to come by.

All the best on your project.
