Turbo Experiment Run 11.4 at Calder

4600!

What were they thinking? You'd have to fill the trans with gear oil to make it stall...

4600 indeed!!

Really good when you consider the 5300 gear changes!!

Got the converter out today, hopefully by friday next week I'll have it back on the skid pad!!

cheers

Finally...the corty moves again!

I ended up getting a 2800rpm stall from TCT in springvale.
This time the guys at TCT were spot on and said that it shouldn't stall over about 3300 - 3500 when under hard boost.

The car feels excellent with firm gear changes.
I will take it to Calder soon.

While I was waiting for the converter, I put in and electric water pump and thermo. The only reson I did this is the ability to keep the pump and fan going between runs.
I guttered all the internals of the standard water pump and took off the whole front section to allow room for the thermo. Interesting is the fact that once you press out the waterpump baring, you can block the hole with a welsh plug - cant remember the size, but its a perfect tight fit.

cheers

George,
If you pulled the normal mechanical thermostat, then you might need to replace it with a "restrictor".
We found in my wife's car that without a normal T-stat in there the water went through the radiator (and engine) so fast that it would never cool.

As soon as we put the restritor in there, it solved our problem. We can now drive it all over town and it never gets above 180*F.

I think Mr. Gasket makes some Stainless steel ones.

Hi Will,

I will keep an eye on the temp and possibly add and adjustable power supply to control the water pump speed.

Thanks for the info.

Cheers
