Alright, this is going to sound harsh but--you need to get the theory down pat before any meaningful advice can be given. Go to http://www.theturboforums.com/turbotech/main.htm and read it. By all means, do not post there what you did here--they are nasty to people that don't do a little research first. We are much nicer. However, those guys really know their business. The principles are the same on every kind of engine, so read around a little there.

After you get the theory and terminology in your head, search the forum here, there are several 300 turbo builds documented.

Then, decide what your goals are. Healthy daily driver? Dragstrip terror? Tow beast? Each will have different requirements.

It is a steep cliff to fall off of, but it can be done fairly cheaply. It takes some fabrication skills, though. If you don't have a welder or know somebody who does, don't even think about it. Every piece of plumbing has to be made, there aren't any pre-made kits for you to bolt up. Then when it's mounted, you have to deal with fuel issues. You'll have to get the ECU tuned or do it yourself, or go with a standalone unit like MegaSquirt. Plus upgrading the injectors, fuel pump, etc.

That's an interesting site. The tech writeup has a fair few errors, but a nice montage of bits 'n bobs from the corners of the web.

Do they get into the nitty gritty of turbo selection?
