Twin turbo 300

Well howards has two different part numbers for the lifters. Maximum effort retro hyd roller lifters 91261. These are definitely the Gaterman lifters. They have material removed to lighten them.

A second is the street series 91169. These look taller....if the picture is right?

I wouldn't go by pictures but I think you may be right. 91169 is 44g heavier and the seat height is taller, which suggests to me that they may be taller.

Ok I finally got a better job......I ordered the Howard's max effort lifters. They are on sale at summitracing for $577.99. I got the last set Jegs had plus the $50 off.😁 hopefully I can get the engine in the shop and see what the next hurdle will be.

I would look hard at the shorter retrofit rollers. One of the manufacturers should be able to provide some guidance or at least some drawings to compare. 🤷‍♂️

That’s the beauty of ordering from Summit or Jegs, if they won’t work you can send them back for a full refund including the shipping cost of return.
Meanwhile you have the actual part to evaluate for form, fit and function.

They gave me the dimensions already. They are the gator roller lifters sold as Howard's. These are the shortest I have found. Not interested in the solid lifters. From what I can tell the link bars are about the same height. That looks like the problem....not the height of the lifter body.

Is it possible to remove the link bar that comes on the 302 hydraulic rollers & make your own? Did we determine that the 302 hydraulic lifter oil groove stays in the bore/oil galley? I was researching flat tappet lifters cuz I wasn't really happy with the ones Schneider sent (crown was all over the place) & ended up on the Johnson website cuz of the Crower website. Wanted to see if they still dealt in flat tappets or if Crower was sourcing them from somewhere else. I called but never talked to anyone, probably shut down for the holidays. Anyway, on the Johnson site they offered "custom applications". Might be an option.

The 302 link bars are too short for the 300 six. The 429/460 link bars are closer.

You can order Morel hydraulic roller lifters for the Ford 300 six from Straub Technologies.

We have been using the Ford 300 solid roller lifters from Crower.

I know the 302 link bars are too short, that's why I asked if you could remove them & make your own.

So the whole quest for a roller cam 300 is over? Bullet roller cam, Straub distributor gear & Straub roller hydraulic lifters? Apparently you have to call Straub to get these parts cuz I can't find them on their website. Contact person at Straub?

End of the year came quick then most of my peeps got sick. Part numbers will be up on site next week. Roller cores should be ready to grind and ship end of the month. LIfters and distributor gears available now. 423 391 7774. Chris Straub

That's great! One stop shopping. How many lobe profiles will be available?
The core has been designed to safely grind from 107 to 114LSA, up to .400" lobe lift, and .050 duration in the 260 range. Will have some stocking grinds in hyd roller. All solid rollers will be custom. Currently my lobe library if over 9K hyd and solid roller profiles.

Thank you for doing this for the buzzin half duzzin fans. I appreciate it very much. I know it's not a small investment & probably marginal if you break even. I'm looking for a grind like Schneider's 140. Nothing radical. 4x4 truck, daily driver, towing, power brakes, manual transmission. I'll call you direct if you would like the specs on the cam card.
