UPDATE: 2bbl carb. project

I woke up at 7:00 this morning to get started on the carburetor upgrade. Here is what I did:

Hooked up electric choke to alternator
Drained radiator
Removed passenger side kick panel and scuff plate, pulled back carpet and laid down towels in preparation for a mess
Installed new lower heater hose (not too messy)
Re-filled radiator

It took me several hours to get all this done correctly. I was prepared for a mess when I removed the old heater hose but only a small amount of antifreeze came out. Now the heater hose goes directly from the water pump to the heater core. It simply runs along the passenger side of the engine compartment. I crimped a ring terminal on the end of the choke wire and I am pretty sure (judging by the shop manual) that I connected it to the stator terminal on the alternator. My girlfriend and her father will be arriving at my house soon. He will help me tune the carburetor. I called him earlier to ask if he had a fire extinguisher. He does. :D That means the Mustang is ready to be fired up for the first since early June. I have everything hooked up and I will be ready for any dangerous situations.

I would like to thank everyone for helping me with this carburetor project. The project was very poorly planned by myself. I was missing parts and I had to do much running around to get the parts. You great members of the FSF really helped me out and I am very thankful. :D

Justin
