All Small Six V8 Head on 250ci?

This relates to all small sixes
You would have to research what fits and might need custom pistons. I would look into v sixes too.

The only thing that might help you is the you can have more than head. Such as these inline sixes. N14 cummins 3 heads, E7 Mack 2 heads. K19 cummins 6 heads.

Have you considered a 2JZ engine?

Is there a way to chop a couple of V8 heads down and fit it on a 250ci?
The problem with the inline valve head for a pushrod V8 is that the valves slant in the opposite direction of the inline six.
This moves the pushrods outward from the inline six block.
We can get way with outward pushrods on the 240/300 six because it has a side cover that can be modified to cover the pushrods.
The 200/250 six does not have a side cover. The engine block does not allow the pushrods to be positioned at a different angle.

Unless someone is very knowledgeable (as in very, very knowledgeable) and had stellar fabrication and welding skills, the realistic answer is no. For someone meeting that criteria and having that knowledge/skills, the answer would vary from maybe to yes.

To successful do something like this would make cutting/milling off a log manifold and fabricating/attaching a custom replacement intake look like child's play. Everything necessary to do this would require precision, modification and custom parts.

Lacking those skills, I believe there is a very high probability that the result of cutting up two V8 calendar heads would be that you would wind up with two cut up V8 cylinder heads.

So if someone needed/wanted a non-stock head for the 200/250 engine - unless that person was very skilled, the better solution would appear to be to replace the 200/250 with a known and time tested engine that met whatever performance requirements they were seeking.

In my opinion, A four valve overhead cam head from one of the modern sixes would be less work and more special than a V8 head.
There may be potential here- the displacement of the modern inline 6 performance engines like BMW are close to the small Ford6. Something may come somewhat close to matching up with "minimal" fabrication. Way beyond my paygrade though.

Biggest BMW six was 3.5litre, its a good engine and would wipe the floor with the pushrod fords. There is a wide selection of Australian sixes that are better than any of the log head units. SOHC DOHC, DOHC Turbo Get one, will cost you way less than cutting and welding up anything else.

If this doesn't work, does anyone know where I can find an Ozzie head?
Which one? IMO you would be far better off getting a whole engine, or even two. If you want pushrods we have the alloy head crossflow, or go to one of the OHC engines. I believe there are people import Australian stuff into USA, otherwise its DIY. Some people here would help you find one. In my town there is a wreckers yard with tonnes of SOHC and DOHC sixes, they run to about $500. Crossflows are getting old now and getting a standard bore block that usable is a bit of a task. There is lots on FB market place, search under Ford 4litre. https://www.facebook.com/marketplac...wse_serp:5b773e10-7d10-4b35-a9d8-a4eda992f2fa

I pretty much want anything that I can put a 4bbl carb on.
Aussiespeed has 4 barrel manifold for the crossie, SOHC and DOHC sixes. SOHC is slightly smaller physically than the DOHC Barra. the Best SOHC is the AU falcon version, but it has a cast alloy sump. Pre AU has steel sheet sump, which is easier to rework. Ill throw up a piccie of my crossflow to give you an idea. Now if I can only find a crossflow head...
Far better off getting a whole engine, I know there are some issues with bellhousings etc, but really adapting a crossie head to a precross block, is going to cost, unless you can DIY it. A head would cost you about $200, an engine probably not much more. Even better get one with a transmission, they do come with a 4 speed manual thats Australian made, but its a tough one (used behind 351s too), you would pay about 350-400 for one in reasonable shape. Mustang six got two crossies from Perth many years ago.

Something to think about, in one of the most premiere V8 drag classes before it was outlawed, they would use 2 four barrel carbs and they would cut them in half so they could line the carb barrels up with the intake runners better.

I realy can't se why one would want to put a fourbarel on a straight six, you only end up with the same lousy A/F distribution as with the onebarel. Two SU carbs, spaced at aprox. Cyl 2 and 5. Work well on Jaguar, Volvos and so on. David Wizard has writen about seting them up properly, just Google for a bit. And have fun! đź‘Ť
