Vacuum Source

Well my carbs are working great. It idles around 800 RPM and at times can be smooth as silk. Other times the idle is a little choppy. I want to get a vacuum gauge to help set up my carbs better. But I have a few questions. I do not have any vacuum ports on the carbs other than the SCV line that runs to the dist. So, where do I hook up my gauge. The intake does not have any vacuum ports either. There is a nut on the intake below the center carb. You can see what I am talking about in this picture. Could I use that port as a vacuum source and if so, can I also use that for vacuum source for me DII set up that I am planning?

yup.

I´d also take this port for vacuum advance and plug the vacuum outlets on all three SCVs.

Do you plan on keeping the choke plates on the outboard carbs?

Thanks for the info. All I have to do is find a vacuum port that will screw into the intake. Yes, I will be removing the choke plates from the two end carbs.

I just order my DSII today from http://www.reincarnation-automotive.com/index.html. This is a new unit that is recurved to match my engine. The DSII will cost me 145.00 this includes shipping, the custom recurve and the cap adapter. I am going to use the GM 4 pin module. Hopefully, I will have this completed in a few weeks.

If you are thinking about getting the Duraspark you should check out the website. Scott was very helpful and responded back to all my questions very quickly.
