I installed a fan shroud and I just had the Borlas installed using 2" exhaust. I like the way they sound with the Benini Headers... The car is just about where I want it before I take it to the dyno, I still need to have the dizzy professionally recurved . The car drives great, there is far more power than when it was stock...I mean you cannot compare the two. It is a beast on the freeway, and I just hate it when there is a car in front of me at the red light :x This is still my first tank of gas and I haven't really paid much attention to the MPG...but I know it aint as bad as a V-8... next update I will take the camera with me on the road. In the meantime, I just want to thank Southern Cross Performance, I can't say enough about how much they have helped so far...

hey how about you hold the camera and I drive the Mustang?

Congrats, man! Im glad you are happy with your ride.
Now, when you change that rear end ratio for something more like (at least) a 3.5, put the Weber on, and replace that air filter, you will not believe the difference!

Now you're getting somewhere Joe!

When does that BIG Weber make it's underhood debut???

I'm sure you cant be getting that good sitting there revving... and if you are I WANT ONE! I figured my gas mileage with my 1 bbl and I was getting a whopping 11mpg! with the money I would save on gas I could have bought a v8... but why? that woukd make it like almost every other mustang..... I think gas mileage has improved since I put the carb on, and the header, and the head, and exhaust..... so far I have been on the same tank as when that kid hit my car I had just filled it up earlier that day, but I rarely drove it and now I'm down to a quarter in my tank... lol sorry, just anything to amuse myself.... I LOVE the way it sounded in my other headphones, then they crapped on me so I switched to some earbud ones and lost all of the lowness of it....

I didn't use an X or H pipe...just ran them straight back from the header. I am still happy with the sound right now...I don't think I would want it any quieter anyway. What was the final verdict on that H vs. X pipe anyway...

An I6 doesn't have the unbalanced firing order of a V8 so it does not benefit nearly as much ftom an X or an H. In general an X will produce higher HP numbers than an H; the H will produce higher torque, but it's a matter of a few percentage points either way.

I think from all the jawing I've done here on the issue of X pipes, the real difference on the sixes is the sound quality. Not so much quieter, but a fuller, more mellow sound. Tha'ts what I'm planning on, but I can't seem to find a 2" X-pipe ANYWHERE. All the ones that I can find are 2 1/4 up. If the exhaust folks can't get one or make one I'll have to forgo it.
