Does anyone have a water pump lying around? If you do. Can you post a pic of the impeller?
What is the number of blades on the impeller?

I am thinking of having a billet 8 blade impeller made to make these a little more high flow. Any thoughts?

I know FlowKooler has one listed for $69. But, I have to order one first to check it out.

tody: Thanks for the pic. (My Capri was the last model built in cologne :D )

I guess the stamped steel version already has 8 blades. But, I am thinking a billet version still might improve cooling.
This is what I had in mind :

Econoline 64: I think those are both cast iron? The later aluminum version was listed for cars with A/C. They can
be found on Summit Racing: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/gmb-125-1290
BUT!! The one on the right might be more effective because it isn't letting any of the water go past the impeller blades.
It is kind of like installing a Flowkooler disc seen here: http://www.carcraft.com/projectbuild/11 ... c_install/

I had posted some water pump info a long time ago. But, it was lost when the forum was hacked.

This is what I currently have on my Mustang. The same as listed above but purchased at a local auto parts store. ( I polished it out):

From what I remember. There were a few different one's. When you opened the box it would either be aluminum or cast. Plus, some
had a longer and shorter snout. Even though they all had the same parts numbers. So, I had to look in a few different boxes until
I found the correct one.

The factory Pump is fine IF it is spun fast enough I am not sure of the factory ratio , buts its quite a bit overdrivin , a Better impeller would allow less rpms and still improve flow , free hp is always good

The impellers with the cover on are more efficient rather than the open impeller type.
Check the air gap between the impeller to housing & it should be close to .025"
Upon installation make sure the impeller does not hit #1 cylinder wall.
If you are using ARP head studs make sure the rf stud does not hit the water pump impeller.
Since this is the only stud going into the water jacket use thread sealant on installation.
