I feel if we condensed some of the good info it would help some of the guys who are starting or wanting to start a project.

Just trying to prepare for the inrush of new members from all of the new press we are recieving.

If I had time I would sit down and write a whole tech article on my build-up......but I don't have time!

If someone volunterered to write it and I did final editing I would go for that.

We do need some type of sticky cause im getting ready to tubo my stang in a couple of months annd it would help me out; rather than doing a search and trying to sift threw all of the threads. good idea guys

Just go through the threads and copy and paste the good stuff into a word document.

I will try to compile some info. This will take some time. There is enough info here to write some books.

I am thinking Short block info. (parts, modifications, tips and tricks specific to boosted apps)

Head info. (same as above)

Gasket recomendations.

Different combos for different levels of boost. (with links to the appropriate threads) If the pioneers of this frontier would share some combos and realistic expectations and drawbacks this would be awesome. This would open the door for them (the pioniers) to be bombarded with questions and could turn into a time consuming thing, so think before you offer your combo.

Turbo id and sizing.

Blower id and sizing.

Fuel system requirements.

Blow thru carbs and draw thru carbs, EFI

Recomended literature.(anyone willing to plop down money for a turbo and not buy some info is a fool and doesn't need to build one) This is my opinion and may not be shared by anyone in the Ford Six Comunity. A blower or turbo project is a big investment and even if you do it on the cheap there is a chance you will loose your investment and possibly everything from bumper to bumper. Knowledge is power and security.

This is just a guidline for what I am thinking about. Your input for the guidelind would be appreciated.

Wow, that's a good outline to start with.

I wonder how we could do it "Wikipedia style" with contributors and approvers??

same as the Big Six FAQ that i worked on and posted above
find info, post it, if there's a problem then a few PMs get passed and the incorrect entry gets edited with the correct info and why it was incorrect

it shouldn't be too hard, seriously just start on it
if you guys don't, then i will

I'll start. Just tell me where to start the thread, what to title it, and what info to include. I guess a basic start is better than nothing?

I can do one on modding a 2300 for boost and a stock pump. granted they are both done already but would be easy for me to just describe if someone could give me some pics of a stock carb.

in here
something including FAQ, turbo, six cylinder, and a few other choice terms
basically go through the posts by people looking for info on how to start a turbo project, give them the building blocks, point them towards other people's threads with good info, give them reference book titles, etc etc

basically anything and everything you can think a newbie would need to know, think of hypothetical questions and answer them

try and give enough information on what you would need to go from knowing almost nothing about turbos, and get them to where they can ask somewhat specific questions

awesome, it's stickied

when i did mine i included the original threads that i pulled the info from so that people could go through and read all the info behind the condensed stuff

it's led me to several good ideas because of something that someone said in passing, just a thought
