Wearing on pushrods?

I finally pulled my the head on my 200 six. When I pulled the pushrods out there was a weird wear on the top of them. It looked like the shape of the oil pocket in the rocker arms. How bad of a problem is this? Are we able to use pushrods from a 250? because we are pulling a 250 head off of an engine so it would be good to know if we should take those pushrods with us. Thanks

The 250 head and rockers will work on a 200, but the 250 push rods will be too long. Good luck

Howdy RB:

And don't reuse the rocker arms and shaft until you disassemble and clean the inside thoroughly. The odd wear on the tip of the pushrods is an indication that they have not been getting oiled through the rocker shaft. You will need to replace the 200 pushrods. The 250 pushrods are too long to use on a 200 engine.

Sorry.

Adios, David

But what about rods from a early 170? As I read in YOUR great book that those had adjustable rockers and my parts car has an early 170. But the ratios are really close, 1.5 or 1.52, is it worth it? Thanks
