opened up the hood tonight to change the float levels on the webers-guess what i find? The front carbs plug on the vac port is rotted and hanging off. shouldn't have an effect at idle, but at any point that the carb is opened up, nice vac leak. These plugs aren't that old, but obviously can't take the underhood heat and such. does anyone make any of higher quality?

Well, a viable option would be a short piece of vac hose with a bolt screwed in it for a plug. I know what you mean about the cheap port plugs found these days.

are you talking about the vacuum port at the base of the carb? you may be able to solder it up, unless you think youll need it in the future.

Patrick, there should have been a giant ray of light and a chorus of angels to accompany your last suggestion!!! Now why didn't I think of that?!
