Well after some thrashing, Kelly's motor is rebuilt, installed, and ready for the Falcon Nationals at Indy on July 20-22.
We've made some minor changes to help us out. Here's a list:

Hughes 2500rpm stall converter. (Replaces a Hughes 3500)
Demon 500cfm Circle track carb 2bbl. (Replaces a Holley 350cfm 2bbl)
O-ringed block.
1/2" head studs. (Replaces the 7/16" studs)
New timing chain, '69 style, installed straight up. (Replaces a '73 style that I had advanced 2 degrees)(this change was in a mild effort to raise the torque curve up to a higher RPM)
www.classicinlines.com (FSPP) valve cover.

We haven't made any passes down the track yet, but the drive around the block seems a lot better than before. More street friendly. That Demon carb is SO much better than our junk yard Holley. At least so far...it's a little lean at WOT so there's some tuning to do.
Here's a pic of the newly installed motor. Same motor as before, just revised.

Hope to see a few of you at the Falcon Nats!!!
Later,

i cant wait to see som new quarter mile times

so with the new additions for strangth r u guys gonna up the boost some more to say 20psi

SUPACLEAN engine bay :D

BTW is that a MSD with BTM??? if it is my question is how well it works ??

Again awesome job :P

20lbs. of boost.....possibly. Actually we're trying to maximize what's already there. The motor makes so much torque down low that our 3500 conv. was just wasting it!
So the changes "should" move the max. torque peak up a bit, and the lower stall converter will be more efficient at lower RPMs.
So we're hoping for a quicker 60' time which will equate to a lower overall ET.

As for the MSD question, we're just running a 6AL with a two step. No boost retard.

All Right!

Will, let us know how that Demon carb works out for you. I highly considered buying one, but it was the one for blow-thru. I just ran out of money.
Yes, with the 500 cfm holley it ran lean at WOT, but ended up being the slacker stock fuel pump to blame. I have the #65 jets in now and sticking there for a while w/ the 350 holley. It is a little rich at bottom but I can live with it until I get the wideband. The bronco sure does run good even at 10 psi, even though it really screamed at 15 psi. Best of luck to you Will and Kelly, talk at ya later.
