1962 Falcon. 200 ci w/200/250 1973 head (low compression ver.) Decently large valves. 1 Bbl, stock exhaust manifold...(this is where you laugh) 2 speed auto, runs tight.

I run pretty lean at high rpms with the 1 bbl. I give a little choke at high rpms to compensate. The 2 speed is a dog, especially 1st gear (long gear), and Id love to eventually to a t5 swap, since I have a t5 laying around. I think I read the codes and found out it has something around a 3.55/1 in the back, very weak stock rear.

Theres something telling me to keep it as is (maybe except for the tri carb, and maybe a better header). The cars got 77k, and is pretty damn clean and original. Interior is great too. I have another full car 62 thats gutted, and easily transformed into a hot rod, but its 90 miles away. It just needs 2 front quarters. My big plans usually turn into no time for it kind of thing.

Im considering swapping for a 2 bbl (once I change the damaged radiator from the fan going through it). Eventually the tri carb Offy that I have (the old 60's one in the original package, courtesy my father).

Anyways, I could guess the hp and 1/4 mile. Let me know what your opinion is, then Ill get it to Union Grove and see what it actually does. Im a good driver too, done burnouts in my dads nostalgia front engine top fueler.

Anyways, heres my guess with what I have now. Weighing in at 2300.

RWHP: 75

1/4: 17.5

Anyone think Im close? Ill replace the radiator and bring it to the strip to make a fool of myself, who cares. I want numbers. Then I can build more and keep getting better numbers (hopefully).

You've got a big weight advantage if your only in at 2300 lbs, but I'll say you'd be lucky to break 18.0

Is that guess on the weight? I would think so unless its gutted with no seats. run it across a scale. you might be surprised. the perf estimates are going to be off also..the biggest per mod you can make ,without spending a fortune, is a swap to a 3 speed auto.just my 2 cents, from being there.

Back in the late 1970's when I was in the Marines we used to go to the old Orange County International Raceway in southern California. There was a guy who made it to the National Finals in bracket racing driving a bone stock roundbody Falcon, might have been a 144 engine, I think it had a three speed. He ran really consistant 20 second quarters. Sometimes he would be half way down the track before the other car would launch, but he was so consistant and never broke out that he was pretty tough to beat. It made the other drivers mad.

Lazy,

(Off topic)

I noticed you use the truck for hay/straw. Yeah, we bale the 65-70 lb bales and use 170 bale wagons. Talk about hard work. Im a big guy now because of it. I can catch the "lighter" (60 lb) ones in my arms, like its a toy!

I would guess in the 20-21sec. range.Does10's car was similar to yours when they first started with their Falcon. The 2speed is probably the biggest hindrance.

Nah I like it stocker, and eventually the tri carb setup. If I wanted to build a hot rod Id work on the spare falcon with some surface rust, gutted. Its 90 miles away though, and I have no time. Id do er up with a big block Ford, and manual 5, tub it etc. Wish I had time...

I still like helping my dad when hes at the strip, mixing the nitro/alky with a hydrometer, or sitting in the (Nost. TF Dragster) while hes tuning the Enderlee Barrell Valve, or testing the brakes, throttle, clutch, etc. Its nice to have 1400 hp of fire flying twoards you out of the zoomie headers right to almost your face, while the wheels are spinning in the air. Warms my day up.

392 Hemi, cast block and heads, major internal work, 671 blower, all spec to NHRA, but completely nostalgia like they ran in the mid-late 60s. including frame, made by the always famous J Ed Horton, who built many top fuelers from the 60's till present. 190 wheelbase, shorty. Engine in the front. 6's.

He let me do a burnout once. Man, that was a rise.

Ill put up a link sometime.

Heres the link. I think Ill go to Union Grove when my dad does, and make a few passes when he doesnt need me. I know hell laugh at me, and Ill laugh too. Maybe I could bracket him and get a 14 second holeshot. That would be the funniest thing anyone could ever see. Father vs. Son. Big Monster V. Little Betty.

I can envision it now, me being almost to the finish line, when he launches, and still beats me. Grudge Match?
