What does stock exhaust look like on a 66 mustang?

Can someone post a picture (or a link) that shows the stock exhaust system on a 66 mustang (or simalar car)? Mine does not have a stock system on it and from looking at the pictures of the parts I cant imagine how the muffler would fit or what it woud attach to. From the parts pics it looks like it fits between the axle and gas tank?? Mine has the muffler under the back seat hanging on what looks like orignal mounting brackets. I dont see any other places where something could hang from. My car has had some major work done so its possible the orignal mounts didnt get replaced.

Thanks!

While I don't have a pic, I can assure you that the stock muffler does hang vertically between the rear and the fuel tank. There should be two rubber/steel hangers bolted to the frame in that area. One hanger bolted to the muffler while the other, I think, was held to the inlet pipe by the pipe clamp.
The V-8, singe exhaust 'Stangs used the same mounting system.
The GT and Shelby both had the mufflers under the rear seat with resonators further back.
I'll try to locate some diagrams.

Sorry for posting this here instead of the mustang area, I forgot it was there because I have to scroll down to see it on my laptop screen...

Thanks for the info. I saw the walker picture but was looking for a actual pic of one in the car. I see the bolts in the frame so I orderd a complete system with the hangers. Seems like it will be VERY close to the gas tank and fuel line. My tank has the sending unit at an angle twards the bottom of the front of the tank, is that the correct tank? Is there supposed to be a heat sheild or anything there?

You have the stock location; above the rear axle and parallel to the differential. There is some hanger stuff up there too. The Midas guy showed me his book with the equipment specs: hagers and such shown in a diagram. But you could have the V-ocho installation with the muff perpendicular to the rear axle instead. The stock muffler is real restrictive and it is in a goofy place. Just check out the stock installation for a dual or Y-pipe setup.

At this point on this project im just looking for something that is cheap and easy and SAFE. The mustang places seem dont seem to have a system that looks like what I had. Id rather not try to hack parts from multiple systems together myself. Custom places around here get $250 for a single system. I orderd a $170 complete system with hangars and all. Im sure its not the best quality but it should work until I get some of the other things done. Sometime down the road I want to do a custom system with the dual headers.

Here's the only pic I have of my '66 with the muffler in position.

The pipes enter and exit on the passenger side. There are hangers on the driver and passenger sides.
